Un mottetto dedicato ai Dolori della Nostra Signora da Antonio de Salazar, compositore messicano tardo-rinascimentale (considerando un po' di "ritardo" dei generi in Messico e soprattutto lo stile palestriniano di Salazar) nativo di Puebla e maestro di cappella a Puebla e Città del Messico (e forse a Oaxaca).
E' un testo che si trova fin dal XII secolo nei salmi per la Beatissima Vergine Maria.
