Experience the power and drama of Ludwig van Beethoven’s masterpiece, the Egmont Overture, beautifully arranged for Horn Octet.
Originally written as incidental music for Goethe's play, this expressive overture tells the story of the life and heroism of the 16th-century Dutch nobleman, Count Lamoral of Egmont. Written in a similar heroic style to his famous Fifth Symphony, these iconic themes sound absolutely perfect in the sound of the horn: powerful, noble, expressive, and dramatic.

Instrumentation & Part Distribution
This arrangement is scored for 8 Horns and is designed to give a balanced, symphonic sound: Horns 1 to 6 are relatively equal in difficulty and importance, with the 1st horn leading on top. Horns 7 & 8 are dedicated to the specific low register parts, providing the rich, deep foundation of the ensemble.

Grade 4 - 4.5 (Advanced).
