The autograph of the incidental music to Egmont is located at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin Preussischer Kulturbesitz. It is, however, lacking precisely the Overture, of which only three scribal copies corrected by Beethoven have survived as manuscript sources. Particularly important is the manuscipt preserved in the collections of the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, since this is the one into which Beethoven entered all the corrections made with respect to the autograph, no doubt during the rehearsals for the first performances.
