The history of the song:
Since time immemorial, the 16th-century Christmas song Een Kindelyn so lovelyk has been sung during Christmas Eve in the St. Plechelmus Basilica in Oldenzaal. Every native Oldenzaal resident learned the song as a child. Many still associate it with incense, candles, angels, and the Christmas atmosphere of home.
The song actually consists of just one verse, but it is always sung twice in a row, with the second rendition a full tone higher.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate.
