A great Ellington book
I am a private instructor for 30 years. This book is a wonderful way to acquaint the third year student with the Ellington catalog. Sometimes the alto has the lead, sometimes an inner voice. Some of the solos are even transcribed (with minor variations). The fact that there is no second track without the alto voice doesn't bother me at all. The tunes are great and so are the arrangements.

I'm really sad with my purchase!
I bought this book but the cd only have full-version tracks and no backing tracks without solist. So I can not play along. Now I must buy other diferent book to play Ellington's melodies!
