Duets on the Mode Collection Set of Parts - Digital Sheet Music

Price includes two copies; Customer may print two copies.  This collection of duets may also be purchased separately. Have fun with these duets! Try to feel the mood of each one. Some are playful, others are serious, and some make duet partners laugh when their hands get close to each other. The modes had many variations, but in general, they consisted of the notes illustrated in the program notes of this collection. The fifth note of the mode was sometimes used to begin the mode, which placed emphasis that the fifth note was prominent. The pieces in this collection illustrate the fifth note, using it above and below the starting note, which sometimes creates intervals that sound strange to us. Those intervals are emphasized in these duets so we can hear how each mode creates a different character and mood. The Ionian is repeated at the end so we can end in a "happy mood."
