"Dorian Melody" is a melancholy melody, like daydreaming on a summer day. This duet is the second in the set of piano duets: "Duets on the Mode". The duets may be sold individually or as a set. Download two copies; Primo and Secondo. The duets illustrate the fifth note of the mode, using it above and below the starting note, which sometimes creates intervals that sound strange to us. Those intervals are emphasized in these duets so we can hear how each mode creates a different character and mood. There are eight duets in the set; there is a different Ionian duet at the end of the set so we can end in a "happy mood." Have fun with these duets! Try to feel the mood of each one. Some are playful, others are serious, and some make duet partners laugh when their hands get close to each other.
