Divertimento for Woodwind Quintet is the "child" a piece I composed called Meet the Orchestra. Like it's musical parent, the Divertimento is designed to teach (or really illustrate) the characteristics of the instruments of the Woodwind Quintet. I composed this piece in 2003 (about 5 years after Meet the Orchestra was written) and each movement features one or more of the instruments with the hope that listeners will become more familiar with what each instrument sounds like as well as the type of music it often plays.The movements are:I.
