I imagined myself in the next 60 years, reflecting on moments in life where emotions ran high and experiences felt overwhelming, now softened by time into distant memories.
This piece draws inspiration from “It’s Been a Long, Long Time”, by Harry James. While that work focused on reunion and longing fulfilled, ‘Distant Memories’ explores the contrasting idea of a reunion that never was.
