De titel ‘Dis-TENSIONS-diS' is een woordspelletje met de woorden ‘tension' (spanning) en ‘distention' (ontspanning, relaxatie). Het werk is afgeleid van een leidmotief dat in het begin gebracht wordt door de warme klank van de fagot. Deze melodie neemt alle kleine deeltjes om die maximaal als bindingselementen in verschillende delen van de compositie opnieuw te gebruiken. Vandaar het onvermijdelijke spelletje van ‘spanning en ontspanning' dat voortvloeit uit een dergelijk ‘hergebruiken' van hetzelfde onderwerp, maar dan met een veelheid van mogelijke variaties.Dis-TENSIONS-diS werd op het prestigieuze Italiaanse Concorso Internazionale di Composizione originale per banda 2009 bekroond met een Mencion de Honor.

The title ‘Dis-TENSIONS-diS' is a game (or pun) with the words tension and distension (relaxation). The work stems from a ‘Leitmotiv' presented at the beginning of the work by the warm sound of the bassoon. So from this melody draws all small parts for maximum re-use like elements of cohesion in different parts of the work. Hence the inevitable game of ‘tension and relaxation' that occurs from such re-use of the same subject, but with a multitude of possible variations. Dis-TENSIONS-diS received a Mencion de Honor at the Italian Concorso Internazionale di Composizione originale per banda 2009.

Le titre ‘Dis-TENSIONS-diS' est un jeu de mot basé sur les mots ‘tension' et ‘distention' (détente). La composition est dérivée d'un leitmotiv introduit au début par la chaude sonorité du basson. Cette mélodie utilise toutes les particules qu'elle réutilise au maximum comme éléments de liaison dans les différentes parties de l'œuvre. Ceci explique l'inévitable petit jeu de « tension et détension » résultant de cette ‘ré-utilisation' d'un même thème, or cette fois-ci avec d'innombrables variations.Mencion de Honor a le Concorso Internazionale di Composizione originale per banda 2009.

Das Werk ist von einem im Anfang vom warmklingenden Fagott gespielten Leitmotiv abgeleitet. Diese Melodie sammelt alle kleinen Teilchen um sie maximal als Verbindungselemente in den verschiedenen Teilen der Komposition aufs neue zu verwenden.
