Derek Hasted writes "This popular Christmas piece fits a guitar trio (or large ensemble) very well.
I’ve made a key-change compared to the original, so that the music is comfortable on guitar, and it’s really rather busy so that the audience hears a really interesting sound.
There is a bell-like introduction and conclusion to the piece, and you’ll recognise the sound of Big Ben, the bell that is an iconic London sound.
There are three verses so that each line has something really interesting yet accessible to play.
Guitar 3 is presented in treble and bass clefs to suit classical guitar, a contra guitar or a bass instrument. It’s fine to have both versions of Guitar 3 together in your ensemble, and the bass clef version has a few edits to make sure that everything works at a sensible pitch (especially the sound of Big Ben!)
