Excellent!
I did this play back in sixth grade, and I am still in love with it! I wouldn't mind doing it this year or next year... I have found, however, that there are good and bad ways to portray the play. It all depends on how the teacher wants the play to be given.

Great Production
My class was studying ancient civilizations and this play complemented that curriculum well. The kids came out of their shells, they sang and they continue to talk about it one year later! It was fantastic!

personally, it's not very good
I am a third grade music teacher in Virginia, and I just have to say that I personally don't like this musical. I had to teach my students this, because my boss asked me too, but if it was up to me, I don't think I would have chosen this musical to show my students. I think it's unfair, (since they're still young anyway) that not everyone got a part, and a lot of students who wanted a part, but didn't get one were disappointed. Some parents told me after the play, that they thought the songs were annoying, and the jokes were cheezy, and they thought the students deserved to do something better than dig it as the last end-of-the-year play. One said the students were great, it was just the play that the students were in, that made this not worth watching.

The Worst Thing I've ever been forced into
We had to sing toga party, so long ago, and here's to the future. I was on the verge of throwing up my lower intesine. We sang the most false things ever. I understand this for 1st and maybe 2nd graders, but 6th graders, utter nonsense.

A Disappionting Musical
We are forced to perform this musical, and we have determined that it has absolutely no redeeming qualities. The very basic history displayed is flawed. I would not recommend this to anyone.
