Composed by Josef Strauss. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. This edition: pdf. 19th Century, Romantic Period. 51 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1173349. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1602805).

The Soubrette (French for maid, servant) is a female role in theatre and a lively singer in the opera. She is characterized by a light, playful and delicate voice and stands in contrst to the prima donna, a figure of higher social status. The piece premiered in 1861 at the Casino Dommayer in Vienna. This arrangement in the original key of the orchestral version was commissioned by Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg, principal conductor Hansjoerg Angerer and premiered at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2020 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Albert Schwarzmann had to step in as conductor at very short notice for the sick Hansjoerg Angerer. For recordings visit https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/.
