Mozart's Musical excursion into the world of oriental Music was a work commissioned ny Emperor Joseph II. to vitalize the German "Singspiel" (opera) and was premiered in 1782 with great success. The oriental colour in the "Abduction of the Seraglio" is supported in this arangement for four flutes by simple percussion parts (ad lib.).
