This arrangement is part leadsheet and part-score: in addition to the melody of the songs there are chords for an improvisation section. The scoring for the various instruments is as follows:
- alto sax. Fully scored for the melody and for counter-melodies when the piano has the melody. Chords are provided for the improvisation section in the alto sax key
- piano: the chords are notated when the meoldy is being played but chord symbols are also provided for optional voicings. Chords are provided for piano improvisation
- bass: fully scored against the melody, and chords are provided for improvisation.
- drums: an initial bossa pattern is given and then repeat signs are shown throughout the score where a bossa pattern should be used. The score also indicates where the drums stop/start. The interpretation is best left to the drummer
