Great Study Material, Verify for Gigs
A comprehensive book of Dexter Gordon solos. The leadsheet notation with chord symbols for tenor sax and 'in concert' key is super practical for quick reference. It's excellent for studying Gordon's unique style. For live performance, I'd recommend a quick check against original recordings, as some solos or keys have been noted to vary slightly. Still, a solid addition to the library.

Finally Playing Dexter! So Rewarding!
Wow, this book is exactly what I needed to dive into Dexter Gordon's world! Being able to play these classic solos transcribed directly from his recordings feels incredible. The 'intermediate' level is a perfect, enjoyable challenge for my weekend playing. It’s so satisfying to sound like the record and really relax into his iconic bebop style. Highly recommend for any adult learner!

Solos issue
The solos are not complete and there are some where it misses choruses in the between (1st to 3rd). It should at least be on the book description...

Dexter Gordon - Jazz Saxophone Solo's
I have noted that some of the transcriptions are transposed to different keys than the solo performances on the recording cited ie. Soy Califa. This makes it a bit difficult.
