DEVIL'S GALOP (Dick Barton Theme Tune) - FLUTE and GUITARFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes "This evocative tune was the theme music to Dick Barton Special Agent, a radio drama on the BBC many decades ago.The music is full of tension, with rising chromatic chords and long chromatic scale passages creating a constant restless feel.The guitar accompaniment is fingered, as there’s really only one place on the guitar to play the chords. For the tune, add slurs wherever these improve the flow of the music.Here and there, I have deliberately “respelled” some of the accidentals in a way that hopefully improves overall readability, and sometimes the two parts have two representations of the same note at the same time.A version of this was played by the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra who also managed to find time to mop their brows in the occasional pauses in the action.
