Georg Freundorfer war einer der beliebtesten Unterhaltungskünstler der 1920er und 1930er Jahre. Er war gelernter Bierbrauer, dann Zitherspieler und Komponist, letzteres als Autodidakt. Sein bekanntestes Lied ist „Der Weg zum Herzen, das einen Stammplatz im Repertoire der Zitherspieler einnimmt. Freundorfer wurde 1881 in München geboren, zog später nach Berlin, wo er große Erfolge feierte. 1940 verstarb er durch einen tragischen Unfall.
