Composed by Randol Alan Bass. Randol Bass Music #RBM-037. Published by Randol Bass Music (EC.RBM-037).

English.

This inspirational anthem was commissioned by the Trinity United Methodist Church of Arlington, TX, to assist in the dedication of a new sanctuary and organ installation. This anthem originally served as a companion piece to the composition titled Dedicatory Fanfare [RBM-038], which is written for the same performing forces and in a similar stylistic vein.

The work falls roughly into a typical “arch” form, with lyrical center-section material framed by more aggressive, declamatory music.

The text was assembled using excerpts from Psalms 84, 104 and 135:
Praise you the Lord;
Praise you the name of the Lord.
Praise Him, O you servants of the Lord,

You that stand in the house of the Lord,
In the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good.
Praise, sing praises unto His name, for it is pleasant. – Psalm 135

I will sing unto the Lord for as long as I live,
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. – Psalm 104

How lovely are they dwellings, O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord.
My heart and my flesh cries out for the living God. – Psalm 84
