By Paul Taylor. Composed by John Young. Arranged by Paul Taylor. This edition: pdf. Folk, Historic. Score. 3 pages. Paul Taylor #1221991. Published by Paul Taylor (A0.1655557).

Written in the early 1900's this is a humorous parody of the theory of evolution as stated by Darwin. Many still remember the famous Scopes/Monkey trial in which the religious point of view was championed by William Jennings Brian. A high school biology teacher (Scopes) was accused of violating the Butler Act, a Tennessee state law that prohibited the teaching of evolution. This piano solo includes two verses of the song with a refrain in the event that the player would like to sing along.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
