The melody under the title "Londonderry Air" was first published in 1885 but is older than that. Air is the type of composition. In 1910 Frederic Weatherly set to it the words for Danny Boy and it became an Irish classic
This arrangement begins like a hymn with a chord on almost every note. It is then repeated with the melody in the bass and a chord only when needed
It may be on the advanced side of intermediate level for some players.
