Great variety, fun, intermediate and up
Great book just like everything else from C Harvey Publications! Has a number of pieces from classical music (Corelli concerto, Messiah, Nutcracker) in addition to carols, which creates a refreshing variety. I believe the book is entirely alto clef and entirely first position, but don't think that you will be bored! Advanced players will enjoy these, intermediates will be challenged. As you read these, you will find the melody switching between first and second viola! The classical pieces can have more accidentals and complex rhythms than some of the carols, so they may be better suited to later intermediate/early advanced. However, there are also some carols that are simpler for intermediate players. An adventurous intermediate with good reading skills may enjoy the extra challenge of some of the more complex classical pieces. Some of the carols do look a little frightening to a less-bold player because there are 8ths and 16ths close together, BUT take it slowly, you can do this! :)
