CZARDAS for Tuba Euphonium Ensemble - This original selection is in the style of the Hungarian dance Czardas and has been written for five part tuba/euphonium ensemble. Instrument parts include Euphonium BC I, Euphonium BC II, Euphonium BC/Tuba-Flex III, Tuba IV, Tuba V. There is also an optional Timpani part. Key centers include Bb, Bb minor, G minor, F minor; including segments of the Bb minor "Gypsie" scale. There is a cadenza duet for Euphonium I and Tuba IV; and a solo, also for Tuba IV. Ranges are moderate with the following exceptions: Euphonium I ascends to high Bb; Tuba V descends to low F. Euphoniums I and II have moderately demanding duets. Tempi ranges between 86 and 126 beats per minute. Performance duration is about 5 minutes and 45 seconds at the tempi indicated. Overall, difficulty level is 5 to 5.5 on a six point scale.
