Arranged for mountain dulcimer in standard DAd (1-5-8) tuning in FOUR different variations across three key signatures. Lots of options given for all skill levels and extra instructions for breaking this into a multi-instrument piece, too.
No extra frets required except for the arrangement in G Major, which uses the 1+ fret.
Suggested skill levels range from Advanced Beginner/Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate as follows:
D Major, lower octave(Advanced Beginner/Early Intermediate), 4 pages. Focuses on one and two finger chords and flat/cross picking. The bulk of the song is played below the fourth fret in this variaiton. D Major, full fretboard(Upper Intermediate), 4 pages. This arrangement is mainly played between the fourth and eighth frets. There are more 3 finger chord voicings included. G Major(Intermediate), 4 pages. This variation does use the 1+ fret for the D7 chord. Uses mostly 2 finger chords or 3 finger "L" chord shapes like the 335 (G) and 668 (C). A Major (Intermediate), 4 pages. This is the original published key of the song. Shares similarities to the G Major arrangement, although it does inlcuded the 56+5 (E) chord, which may be somewhat unfamiliar to some players.
