Concerto Tricolore is een boeiend trompetconcert in drie delen. Elk deel heeft zijn eigen muzikale karakter. Het eerste deel (Allegro Brillante) is levendig en virtuoos, en in neoklassieke stijl gecomponeerd. Er volgteen Andante Doloroso voor bugel, met een zachte, romantische achtergrondbegeleiding. Daarna geeft een Allegro Giusto de jazzy sfeer van een oude rokerige jazzclub in Chicago weer. Het resultaat is een afwisselend enonderhoudend geheel.
