Brilliant and Underplayed
It's a fantastic concerto, one of the greatest of the 20th c. The edition is high quality. It will be a challenge even to the virtuoso, but worth every minute you put into it. You can listen to the Heifetz recording to hear the orchestration; there is also a Perlman performance with the Israel Phil. on YouTube (sound only). This is up there with Sibelius, Elgar and Prokofiev in 20th c. tonal concertos, it's that good.
