This familiar and much-loved work was originally for 2 mandolins and string orchestra. This arrangement is for 2 solo C-flutes and flute choir (2 C-flutes, alto flute, bass flute, contrabass flute). The work contains three short movements (Allegro – Andante – Allegro) and runs a total of approximately 12 minutes. The solo parts challenge the performers in terms of breathing and articulation. The choir parts are not difficult. This work is appropriate for student, community, and professional ensembles alike. Score: 27 pages. Total download: 67 pages.
Both solo parts include low B, although the player without this note may simply play the B in the middle of the staff instead. There are also low B’s in the Bass part. While I am aware bass flutes today do not have this note, one can dream for the future and so I left them in.
In this 2026 revision, I have attempted to make the score and parts more readable. I adjusted some rehearsal letters but left the notes essentially unchanged.
