Composed by Louis Glass. Arranged by Louis Glass. This edition: pdf. 19th Century, Chamber. 55 pages. Albismusic #1138809. Published by Albismusic (A0.1566708).

In two published Danish reviews, by unnamed Copenhagen music critics, the following can be read about the
premiere of the violin concerto:

‘It is certainly the best day in Glass's career. The concerto displays a richness that has been missing
missing in his works, and it is also in a cheerful, post-romantic mood that reveals the unknown side of the composer.
reveals the unknown side of the composer. Thanks to Thornberg's marvellous solo playing, this opus
a masterly performance.’

‘The Louis Glass novelty proved to be a rather far-fetched, [in the sense of ‘reminiscent of days gone by’]
but all the more skilfully created opus with strong memories of Gade and [Peter Erasmus] Lange-Müller. If
the listener had not been told beforehand that it was the final composition of the composer heard before
beforehand, one would believe it. We are therefore inclined to regard it as a work from the past. In the
Adagio there were many beautiful details that - in true Danish fashion - delighted the ear and marked a transition from Carl Nielsen's
tart tonal language to Gade's gentle tones.‘
