Complete Piano Sonatas in 4 Volumes by Franz Joseph Haydn Piano Solo - Sheet Music

By Franz Joseph Haydn

The soon available four-volume edition of all of Joseph Haydn's Complete Piano Sonatas is based on the Urtext of the first Haydn Complete Edition and complements our series of "Instructive Editions" for piano. Editor Hermann Zilcher (1881-1948) was considered one of the most outstanding pianists, conductors and music pedagogues of the early 20th century. In the preface of his edition, Zilcher stated that he tried "[...] to bring about a balance between the demands of research and the lively need to make music [...]." He paid special attention to the fingerings in the "Haydn style", which bring even today's modern instruments "... even in the most delicate non legato 'inevitably' to respond".Edition from Competent Hand
