19th Century French organ music
I discovered Boellmann after having researched, and bought, music by Alexandre Guilmant, Theodore Dubois and Francois Couperin. While Couperin belongs to the Baroque era of French music, both Guilmant and Dubois belong to 19th century French organ music. And Boellmann is the pupil of these two Masters, Guilmant and DuBois. The music is melodic, modern and not all that difficult to play, though some pieces are more challenging than others. As usual, Barenreiter does a great job with their volume and the music is presented clearly and cleanly. If youre into 19th-century French organ music, along with composers like Cesar Franck, this is the book for you!
