Perfect Bridge to Advanced Beethoven
The Bagatelles form a perfect bridge to the Advanced works of Beethoven (the Sonatas). Fur Elise is the most famous Bagatelle, but there are numerous other ones that deserve wider recognition. There is good reason to have students learn every one of these beautiful compositions. Those who do will be perfectly prepared to play the more difficult Beethoven works. The Dover editions are always reprints of the best of authoritative editions, and this is no exception. They are just as good as the more expensive urtexts, but much more economical.
