Composed by John Wyeth. Arranged by Jodi Ann Tolman. This edition: pdf, streaming. Praise & Worship, Sacred. Score. 2 pages. Jodi Ann Tolman #3033623. Published by Jodi Ann Tolman (A0.722944).This is a unique arrangement of this classic hymn. It is written in 4/4 time instead of this song's traditional 3/4 time signature, creating a beautiful, extended sound. The first verse has a simple melody line with an interesting left-hand accompaniment. The introduction is heard again as an interlude between verses. The second verse mimics the first verse, but adds an embellished melody line creating a beautiful and unique arrangement.
This arrangement can be played on both lever and pedal harps. There are no lever or pedal changes. It is written in the key of B flat, with no key changes.

An easy and beautiful arrangement
I really enjoy this arrangement. I consider myself a beginner or early intermediate, because harp is not my primary instrument and I just started taking lessons again this year to help me become a more competent player. This arrangement is one of my favorite hymns, and it's very easy to learn - if I can sight-read it comfortably, I think anyone can. I love that there's a YouTube video to go with it to help you as you learn. The harmonies are somewhat predictable and repetitive (which helps a learner), but each chord is well-chosen and sounds lovely. I think it's usually written in 3/4 rather than 4/4, so there are more pauses between phrases than usual, but that gives the player breathing room as you get ready for the next phrase (that helps eliminate the pauses that I sometimes have as I learn a piece on harp). I'm really glad Jodi Ann Tolman decided to include this hymn in her arrangements, and she's one of my go-to arrangers for beautiful and easy versions of songs that I love.
