"Colour My World" was written by Tony Hatch and Jackie Trent and recorded by Petula Clark in 1966, featuring a distinctive sitar riff that acknowledged the sounds of the later decade. It returned Clark to the US Top Twenty with a number 16 peak. The song found a vivid new theatrical life when it was staged in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert — the jukebox musical adapted from the 1994 Australian film, which opened on Broadway in 2011 featuring a company of 27 in over 500 costumes. In the show, it features the ensemble cast dressed as dancing paintbrushes. This TTBB arrangement leans hard into that joyous, danceable energy — bright, propulsive, and built for the kind of big, theatrical Broadway moment that GALA choruses were made for.
