This exciting new musical utilizes the universal appeal of a box of crayons as the basis for teaching some valuable lessons about human relationships. The characters become life-sized crayons who explore the difficulties which arise when they must work together to complete the day's task of coloring another page in the coloring book. Six delightful Unison/two-part songs, including COLORING BOOK, COWBOY BLUES, and COMPLIMENTARY, are upbeat and easily learned! Costumes, props and sets can be kept simple and easy! This show is both versatile and flexible, especially concerning cast size and its appeal to several grade levels. Although the tone of this production is light-hearted and entertaining, both performers and audience learn about such issues as prejudice, expressing one's feelings, cooperation, and taking a positive approach.
