The cello has the famous rhythmic bass line, supported by the viola (or violin 2 alternate), while the violin shines with the melody. This trio can be played by either two violins and a cello, or a violin, viola and cello. The middle part is included in both alto clef (for viola) and in treble clef (for the second violin), giving you greater performance flexibility.
