It is for students ready to move from beginners stage and looking for something a little more challenging. There are two version of Clowning Around, an Abridged version (single page) and a Full version (double page). The Abridged version can also be used by more advanced pianists for sight-reading practice. The detached rhythm of this piece and the two-in-the-bar feel, along with the use of chromaticism and the odd dissonance, is a deliberate attempt to engender a feeling of clowning or fooling around. The accompanying mp3 file is a demo version only.
