This a wonderful ragtime piece for piano, full of energy and exhuberance that somehow hasn't made it to the top of Joplin's most popular pieces. It appears here in abbreviated form (two strains) and without the overly-athletic jumps and athleticisms of Joplin's style. Unfortunately many of us don't have the hand size of Joplin (he could stretch a 15th) or the musclature to keep complete a full rag. Here the arranger was able to keep the basic voicings and excitement of the music without the difficulties often encountered with piano rags.
