Simple but wonderful harmony
I found this book much easier than expected and only say that i want more of Eugenie Rocherolle's compositions. Great book!

Perfect book to add repetoire
I am an 'adult learner'...started piano late in life. Once past 'intermediate' skill level, I started my search for jazz/blues sheet music for 'grown ups' that sounded good, was playable at my level (with diligent practice), and approximated in sound a more 'professional' version of the song. This search proved to be VERY difficult....with most books only teaching 'phrases' and 'riffs'...or had very simple arrangements that just don't satisfy the ear. Classic Jazz Standard by Rocherrolle meets my criteria. You may (or may not) personally like every song in the book, but the arrangements have a more sophisticated 'sound' and are playable by folks who are not (yet at least) advanced or professional musicians. The Hal Leonard online 'audio files' were easy to access and the internet music player allows you to slow down the tempo of the song to HEAR the more complex parts...(almost like a human teacher).

Classic Jazz Standards
LOVE this book! Great tunes that are appropriate for a number of settings, and fun just to sit down and play. The pieces are easy enough for an advanced pianist to sight-read, but they are full enough that they do not sound elementary. This was a great purchase and I am using 6 of the 10 pieces in the first week I got it.

Classic Jazz Standards
I purchased this book/CD combo about 2 months ago. Already I've learned 5 of the 10 songs. What pure joy. The CD is a great help. The pieces are beautifully played by Ms. Rocherolle - a great inspiration. The arrangements are excellent though some of the fingerings are a bit uncomfortable for my hands. I highly recommend this book for anyone at an intermediate level who wishes to learn jazz piano. At only $12.95, it's an incredible bargain. Buy it! You won't regret it.
