CintaKinta (pronounced Chinta Kinta) was composed in 2015 for the Kinta Valley Wind Orchestra, a community concert band based in the town of Ipoh in Malaysia. Cinta Kinta is Malay for I Love Kinta with the Kinta Valley being the district in which Ipoh is situated. The trio of the march uses the old but well known Malay folk tune Rasa Sayang but in Cinta Kinta it is given a 6/8 treatment with flourishes reminiscent of a British Brass Band.
