This arrangement for Jazz Ensemble / Big Band has written backing vocals with optional doubling in saxes (trumpets). The 'piano'-part is written for a synthesizer witch ideally should be set up by two different sounds, one for the left hand chords and another for the right hand lead part. I recomend you listen to the recording for more inspiration regarding this synthesizer sounds. The iconic lead synthesizer part is also written as a solo-like muted 2. trumpet. This part can easily be excluded if you perfers a solo synthesizer instead.
The arrangement has a very basic written drum part, but listening to the recording, you'll hear that the drummer plays very freely on the hi-hat. The arrangement has no percussion part, but adding a percussionist playing freely on triangle, cow bells, woodblocks etc., will add valuable contribution to the final result.
