Coleridge-Taylor’s colorful setting of "Good King Wenceslas" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" adds a creative and exciting work to the holiday season. Born of an African father, he was an early 20th century prominent English composer, conductor and influential advocate for Black composers. Arranged for a traditional woodwind quintet of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon, the edition includes alternate parts clarinet in B-flat substitute for oboe, alto saxophone in E-flat substitute for horn, and bass clarinet in B-flat substitute for bassoon.
