Irresistible unique arrangements of the best known Christmas carols and songs (including "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Holly Jolly Christmas") will be enjoyed by everyone, players and listeners! Rocherolle has set each carol so that it performs well as either a solo (for intermediate pianists) or as an accompaniment to a "sing-along." Words are printed at the top of the pages for easy reading by singers. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" has a flute or violin obliggato.
The thirty-three popular solos in this collection offer subtle changes to traditional harmonies and give attention to the character and mood of each carol."Rocherolle remains one of the finest contemporary composers writing for intermediate players.".

Odd Arrangements
This has many classic Christmas songs with very non-classic arrangements. There were some strange chords in every song and I did not like the way any of the songs sounded. I returned the product - there are other much better Christmas books out there.

Not What I was Looking For
I bought this book based on the rave reviews and was a bit disappointed because most of the arrangements were nice but not great. The First Noel, Oh Come, Oh Come Emanuel and Away in the Manger are very nice arrangements, so if you are looking for decent arrangements of these songs then it would be a good choice. If you are looking for an excellent arrangement of Silent Night, this is not the book you are looking for. Some of the arrangements are awkward and a little frustrating to play at first. A Celtic Christmas in the Phillip Keveren series remains my favorite Christmas piano book.
