The fourth volume of Breitkopf & Hartel Choir Library for Mixed Choir - Sacred Repertoire collects all works that cannot be sorted directly in the order of the church year. They are roughly divided by the genres motet, solemn sacred music, Marian hymns and general sacred songs. Basically, the second part includes motets, too, for example by Schutz, Bach, Mendelssohn and Brahms, but they stand out from the works of the first part by their especially festive character. The Marian hymns represented here range from Palestrina via Liszt to Reger, while the general sacred songs mostly contain compositions by Franz Schubert and Rudolf Mauersberger. All parts are sorted chronologically by origin to allow the fourth volume to serve as a supplement to the first three volumes.
