Composed by Kathleen M. Basi. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 30 pages. Kathleen M. Basi #3480597. Published by Kathleen M. Basi (A0.909040).

Six tuneful and fun-to-play flute duets. Except for the first duet, all parts are equal in level and interest. All duets are also available for individual download at publisher page above.

  • "Night Lights" (3/4, G minor/G major, including F#) is for relatively new players with a more challenging second part meant to be played by the teacher.
  • "Swing Sets" (3/4, Eb Major) is accessible to intermediate (i.e. upper middle school) players.
  • "Bike Riding" (4/4, G Major) has more rhythmic interest and challenging accidentals. Appropriate for advancing intermediate players.
  • "Afternoon Tea" (2/4, A Major) is very accessible except for the sharps! A good brain stretch for the junior high player, to learn that sharps are not actually harder than flats.
  • "Superheroes" (6/8, G Major). Finger work and hemiolas in a range from low G to high A, for the intermediate high school player.
  • "Roller Coasters" (shifting time signatures, F Major-Bb Major). Rhythmic and metric interest and significant technical passages make this good for high school students hoping to develop their technical facility.

Great variety!
This collection of duets works great for my school lessons! I teach 6th through 12th grade flute players and have been looking for extension material. This duet book provides a great way for all levels I teach to experience playing duets.

Delightful!
This is a heartwarming collection of pieces to reminisce about childhood. I projected relevant photos of children while performing each movement for something extra special. The movements vary progressively in difficulty, but even the easiest ones fit nicely on an advanced recital. True crowd-pleasers!

Amazing Work of Musical Art
These duets are some of the best pieces of music I have ever played. I love how they are progressive in difficulty and allow you to get better as you play them. My favorite has to be either Swingsets or Rollercoasters. I absolutely adore her music and I recommend it highly to players of any level.
