Fifty years ago the world lived in a dangerous time known as the Cold War. The city of Berlin, Germany was divided into parts and a wall separated the free western zone and the communist eastern zone of the city. Checkpoint Alpha is a musical depiction of the dangerous corridor between West German and Berlin that existed during this time. The driving tempo gives the music a menacing quality which will excite students and audiences.
