CELTIC VENTURE for Trombone Ensemble - This work has been inspired by early traditional folk tunes of the British Isles and has been written for five-part trombone ensemble. It is intended for a large trombone choir with two or three performers on each of the five parts. When possible, both tenor and bass trombones should perform parts III and IV adding richness and depth to the ensemble sonority. Key center is primarily G minor. Meters include 6/8 alternating with 3/4 and 4/4. There are interesting alignment of rhythms in 6/8 meter. Ranges are generally moderate except Part I ascends to high Bb at one point. Performance duration is about 4 minutes and 45 seconds at indicated tempi.
