Celebrate The Light is a bright, up-tempo SATB piece that examines the deeper meaning of "Light" in the holiday season and the natural inferences to love and our heart space. The vocal range is moderate and the pace is suprisingly fluid throughout the mixed meters with the eigth-note constant across all measures.
The beginning sets the mood with sleighbells and a piano cadance that elicits the Winter season. The end of the introduction climaxes with an exciting and uplifting sixteenth-note arppegio over two measures, leading into the vocals.
There is a short key change after the first and second verses shifting into a minor feel (for lyrical emphasis) before reverting back to a bright major chord as the next verse begins. This piece is exciting and uplifting in a celebratory fashion that few songs approach today. Give a listen to the demo.
