This arrangement of the rather haunting melody from the 'The Deer Hunter' from the movie of the same name is in the key of A Major which is the original key as played on the guitar in the movie. The tempo is Andante and to be performed with expression. The arpeggiated undulating movement between the cello and viola part makes for a sense of movement in the arrangement. The viola takes up the tune in the middle section of the arrangement. The arrangement can be performed as a string quartet, string quintet or string orchestra.
