    proper to the season

In Duarte's words: As is proper to the Season, these carol settings are intended to give pleasure without toil or tears. These carols are arranged very intelligently, with a keen ear for counterpoint and musical structure. Compared to the typical Christmas Carol book for the intermediate guitar player, these are masterworks, and indeed Duarte's perception of what is proper to the season is perfect.
