Carnival is dedicated to Kristen Bielki, an outstanding music educator who passed away at a very young age.Carnival is an exciting piece for the very young musician. It explores the first six notes of the Bb major scale. The singable melody is first introduced at m. 5 in the clarinets. This simple melody is written and scored in such a way that every instrument in the band will have a chance to play it at least once. Care should be taken to make sure that the melody is never covered when it is being played. Keep the tempo lively. This is an excellent piece for concert or festival for young bands.
